Introducing Our New Standard License — Full Commercial Use at One Affordable Price
One License. Full Commercial Freedom.
We’re pleased to announce an important update to the licensing system for MASSIMO RIGHI 3D models.
A couple of years ago, we introduced a three-tier licensing system consisting of Individual, Indie, and Studio licenses, designed to accommodate different types of customers, from independent artists to large production studios.
While this system offered flexibility, it also introduced additional complexity and different pricing levels depending on the customer’s commercial requirements.
After reviewing our licensing approach, we’ve decided it’s time to make things simpler, more accessible, and more affordable for everyone.
We’re replacing all three licensing tiers with a single Standard License — Commercial Use Included, offering full commercial usage rights at prices even lower than those of the former Individual License.
No revenue limits. No additional studio fees. No need to choose between different commercial licensing tiers.
One license. One price. Commercial use included.
What’s Included in the New Standard License?
- Commercial Use Included — Use our 3D models in personal and commercial projects.
- No Revenue Limits — Your company’s size or annual revenue doesn’t affect license eligibility.
- For Individuals and Companies — Freelancers, independent artists, small studios, and large production companies can all use the same license.
- Internal Team Use Included — Authorized members of your production team can work with the licensed models within your organization.
- Lower Prices — Our 3D models are now available at even lower prices than the former Individual License, making professional-quality assets more affordable for everyone.
Better Value for Everyone
One of the biggest advantages of this change is that studios and businesses can now access our models at the same price as individual artists.
Customers who previously required an Indie or Studio license will no longer need to pay a higher price simply because of their company size or revenue.
Whether you’re working on an independent project, a commercial advertisement, a video game, a film, or a large-scale production, the same licensing terms apply.
What About 3D Printable Models?
Our STL Personal and STL Commercial Licenses remain unchanged.
These licenses continue to apply separately to our 3D printable models.
- STL Personal License — Allows unlimited physical prints for personal use.
- STL Commercial License — Permits unlimited physical prints for personal or commercial use, including the sale of physical 3D prints.
The new Standard License applies to our standard 3D model collection and does not replace the existing STL licensing options.
Why We’re Making This Change
After more than 20 years of creating professional 3D animals and creatures, we believe licensing should be straightforward.
Our models are used by artists, freelancers, studios, and production companies around the world, and we want everyone to have access to the same professional assets without unnecessary licensing complexity.
We believe that the value of a 3D model should be determined by the quality of the asset itself, not by the size or revenue of the company purchasing it.
Our goal is simple: make professional 3D content more accessible while giving artists and studios greater freedom to create.
